What's the matter now with login credentials?

I can login to the Language cloud without problems. But when I try to open the Trados Help, the same username and password do not work. (As a solution, I am invited to change my password -- but in order to do that, I have to know my previous one -- which does not work; that is precisely the problem. So catch-22.) And when I select the Help > Forums button, I get an error message saying something like "The remote certificate is invalid according to the validation procedure". When I try the Tutorial button, I am immediately logged in.

What is going on?

  • I am using Trados Studio Freelance Plus (17.0.5.14757) and have the same issue on one of two machines.

On my laptop, the help button in any Studio dialog, as well as “Help Topic Online Help” under the “Help” tab in Trados Studio, takes me to the same Tridion login as in Mat’s case. However, the “Help System” link under “More Resources” in the “Welcome” view takes me to https://docs.rws.com as it should.

On my desktop PC (same Trados Studio license and version, same browser and version (latest Firefox) as on the laptop), the help buttons in dialogs work as they are supposed to, i.e., they take me straight to the corresponding online help topic.

It appears that, on my laptop, calls to docs.rws.com are redirected to https://sdldoc01.sdlproducts.com/ISHSTS/account/signin by some Azure server that takes a dislike to my laptop (or its IP or MAC address or whatever).

I attach a screenshot of a Firefox debug log from my laptop showing that Trados Studio requested a connection to https://docs.rws.com but got redirected with response 302 (found) by your server which then serves up the Tridion login prompt.

Screenshot of Firefox debug log showing a GET request to docs.rws.com for Trados Studio help page being redirected to an SDL Tridion login page with a 302 Found response.
