Opening Trados

Hello,

My colleague is unable to open Trados 2022 (Trados Studio 2022 SR2 - 17.2.12.19268) and receives the following error message when she tries to do so: Index was out of range. Must be non-negative and less than the size of the collection. Parameter:index.

I have tried to repair it as well as uninstall and reinstall it, but the error message remains.

I have also tried the option of renaming the folders as per https://gateway.rws.com/csm?sys_kb_id=90b483908391625015c56180deaad33e&id=kb_article_view&sysparm_rank=4&sysparm_tsqueryId=92036b963bab2a5093afd79704e45a73, however there is no App Data folder so we are not able to rename it.

Please can you advise what other steps to take?

Thanks in advance,

Jane

  • Hello  ,

    The "AppData" folder must exist as it's part of Windows; this folder stores application-specific data, settings, temporary files, etc. ... it's not used only by Studio, so the Operating System deploys it automatically. If you cannot find it, that most likely happens because you do not have the "Show Hidden Items" option enabled in Windows Explorer.

    Having certain file\folders hidden shouldn't be an issue though; you can still navigate to that folder. Please open Windows Explorer, and copy this exact path there (and press "Enter" to go to that location) - C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Roaming\Trados\Trados Studio\

    Once there, please rename these two folders:

    - 17 -> 17_old

    - Studio17 -> Studio17_old

    Try to restart Studio.

    Hope this helps,

    Vlad
