Nope... at least the subtitle data doesn't have to. The video and the waveform are linked as they are actually in the same window. But the subtitle data table can anywhere you like... or even not used at all! Most demos we do are on a single laptop screen, which isn't optimal. So we squeeze the screens where they make the most sense for a demo, but as you can see they can be moved around:
