I have Trados 2017 installed on my desktop and my laptop. Both run the current version of Windows 10 with the recent update. I get a "Not found" error when I try to open Trados 2017 from either my start icon on the .exe file. However, the software works fine on my desktop. That same applies to the legacy versions of Trados 2015 that are left on the computers.
I upgraded from Trados 2015 to 2017 in November 2017.
I deleted Trados Studio 2017 from the Windows Control Panel screen and all the associated directories that Paul listed. (What about the app "SDL Trados 2017 SR1 - Remove suite of products"? What does that even mean? Will this remove my MultiTerm as well, which works fine)?
I uninstalled the recent Windows updates (doing a Windows Repair deletes ALL of my applications and takes hours to recover from!). I reinstalled Trados but now the license is no longer available. Since I could never access Studio to begin with from the laptop, I was never able to deactivate the license before repairing Windows (you should point that out Paul!)
I did a Forced Return to the license for both fulfillments, and the new activation date shows Jan 8, 2018 (today). However, I still cannot seem to seem to Activate the product. I get a "Activation failed. Activation not allowed as remaining quantity is 0". When I click "Cancel" from the Activation screen, I can get the "Not found" error screen.
Any help would be most appreciated, since I am travelling and trying to complete a project (hence using my laptop!).
Cheers,
Dave Rumsey
