Use of Studio 2019 on a new pc and keep 2017 on the old one?

Hello, my new pc will arrive in a few days and I have bought the upgrade from Studio freelance 2017 to Studio freelance 2019. Is it easier to wait some days and install 2019 directly on the new one? I have read something link "return the licence to SDL befor using the same license on a new pc"... is this right? So it would be better to make everything on the new one, right? Can I use ma old one as a "back-up-pc" with Studio 2017? And the new one with Studio 2019? Soorry, but downloads, installations, licensing is not my strenght... thank you in advance!

 This is what I'd do in your case: 
 
 Do NOT deactivate 2017 on your existing computer 
 Upgrade your 2017 to 2019 in your account. This will remove your 2017 licence and replace it with the new one but Studio will still be running on your old computer because you did not deactivate it. 
 Install 2017 and 2019 onto your new computer 
 Licence 2019 
 2017 will use the same licence on your new computer without you having to do anything. It will just read the 2019 licence automatically 
 
 So now you have 2017 and 2019 working on your new computer and you can still use 2017 on the old one for as long as you don't return the licence from the product itself.

Further to both Paul's and Jesús's answers I would like to explain the situation a little more. 
 
After checking your account, I see that you have the Freelance version- this allows you to install both Studio 2017 and Studio 2019 on the same machine. 
The Studio 2019 license than allows you to run both 2019 and 2017 on the same machine. 
 
The realson why the software is not working on the second (new) machine is that you only have a one machine license. 
If you wish to have Studio 2019 (and 2017) installed and activated on TWO machines, you need to upgrade to the PLUS version. 
Currently the software on the second machine will only be in trial mode. 
If you do not wish to upgrade to PLUS- deactivate Studio 2019 on the old machine and use then the same activation on the new machine to activate Studio 2019 (which will then allow you to use 2017 as well). 
Studio 2017 and 2019 will now be inactive on the old machine.

It is only possible to run Freelance and Professional single user 2017/2019 licenses side by side. 
If you are using network licences, when you upgrade from 2017 to 2019 you will lose the ability to use 2017.

 The proper process is as follows- 
 You will need to return at least one of your current Studio 2017 licenses- then access your SDL account/Licenses and click on the UPGRADE button and follow the instructions. 
 You will then notice the returned 2017 will have become inactive and replaced with the new 2019 license. 
 Now you can upgrade as many licenses to 2019 as you wish- you do NOT have to deactivate all of your licenses and upgrade at the same time.

You need to first upgrade the license server manager (2019) - which will then handle both your 2017 and 2019 licenses. 
Then you will need to deactivate all your Studio 2017 licenses- upgrade the number of licenses you need to 2019- and then reactivate the 'legacy' licenses back to 2017. This process (license deactivation/activation) should take no more than a couple of minutes. 
Maybe just ensure that 2019 is pre-installed on the workstations to ensure a smooth process.

Yes - if you have had no issues with 2017- there are no reasons why 2019 wont work.
