Error Message

Hi, 
 I received a message proposing to update my 2017 version of SDL Studio. I did and everything seemed to go ok, but when I tried to open Studio, I received the following messages. 
 An unexpected error has occurred while loading the global plug-in services and Could not find the resources appropriae for the specific culture (or the neutral culture) on disk. baseName: Sdl.LCStudio.Integration.Common.plugin locationInfo: <null> fileName: Sdl.LCStudio.Integration.Common.plugin.resources 
 
 I've been told to follow the following instructions: 
 Workaround: Repair Studio installation 
 
 Open the folder:
 
 for Studio 2015 (64bit OS): C:\Program Files (x86)\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\Studio4 in Windows Explorer 
 for Studio 2017 (64bit OS): C:\Program Files (x86)\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\Studio5 in Windows Explorer

Rename the folder PlugIns folder, e.g to PlugIns_Old 
 Run a Repairing your installation of SDL Trados Studio 
 
 I did, but it still doesn't work. 
 Now, I get this message : 
 
 What do I have to do?

Thank you Paul. I tried 2 major solutions offered by SDL : gateway.sdl.com/.../communityknowledge 
) and it didn't work out. I went through the additional steps to reset Studio (renaming some folders), but it still didn't work. I finally got some help who discovered that Norton (or Windows Defender) was blocking the process at some point. The problem is finally resolved.

Running a repair install on Studio should resolve this problem but if you can't fix it like this then you should log a support case and the support team will do this for you. For licensing or installation issues that prevent you from working we have a route for all customers to get help. This can be achieved really quickly using this link:

You have two options: 
 
1. Submit a case using a webform 
2. Use live chat to get a licence reset 
 
You want to use the first option and make sure that you refer to this thread so the teams can see what you have tried already.
