Deactivation failed - SDL Trados Studio 2017 Professional license

I just wanted to deactivate my Studio 2017 SR1 Pro license (build 14.1.10013.37703) but received the following error message: "Deactivation failed. Could not revoke this license. - Revocation is either complete or revocation proof is already uploaded."

When restarting the application or checking status online, I can see that my license is still active. How do I force a deactivation?

Thanks in advance.

/Joan

  • Hello  ,

This sounds like something has corrupted the Studio license- maybe missing admin rights/AV or something similar.

If you have full admin rights on your machine, then please navigate to the following folder

    C:\ProgramData\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\Studio5\Data

File Explorer window showing C: drive path to SDL Trados Studio license file with 'Studio.lic' highlighted.

then rename the lic file maybe to Studio.lic_old- then restart your machine and restart Studio.

Studio should now run normally allowing the proper deactivation.

Should you still have issues, please log a free support ticket (licensing) via your SDL account

SDL Account support page with options to 'Submit Case' or 'Request License Reset' for Trados Studio.
