I purchased a Professional Licence today in order to upgrade my Freelance Licence.
I cannot deactivate the Freelance licence to copy-paste the new activation code for my Professionnal Licence.

As you upgraded your license to a Professional one the Freelance license does not exist anymore so there is no possibility to perform a normal deactivation ( from Studio).
In order to activate the new license you need to remove the local license information of the no longer existing Freelance license.
In order to do this simply close Studio and navigate to C:\ProgramData\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\Studio16\Data and rename the Studio.lic file ( to Studio_old.lic for example).
After that just open Studio and you will be able to activate the Professional license.
