Thanks Paul. Does that mean that I can no longer use the previous version ?

It means you cannot use the previous version on a different computer.  But you can keep using it on the same computer as you have 2021.  The trick is twofold.

Trick #1
Don't return the licence for 2019 in the product.  You have to do this in your account but if you leave 2019 as it is then it'll continue to run until you need to change your computer or have some problem that requires a reset and you lose the licence.

Trick #2
Return the licence in the product so it's deactivated.  Then install and licence 2021 on the same machine with the new 2021 activate code.  Now start 2019 and you should find that it works because it will take the licence from 2021.  You do not have to enter an activation code for 2019 at all... in fact if you do it won't work.

In truth neither of these are tricks at all.  This is just how the software is designed to work.
