Looking in your account you seem to have activated the product today. Presumably not a problem for you any more?

Hi Paul.
Thanks for your message. You're right; the problem is solved.
Actually right the next day after I had posted my question the order was all at a sudden labeled as "paid" and I could access the activation code.
However my account shows no second free activation code. So in order to activate the product on a second machine I might have to de-activate the 2019 version first. Right?
Many thanks,
Rainer
If you purchased the Plus version then you can simply use the same activation code twice. If you didn't then you need to deactivate from one machine while working on another.
I might have to de-activate the 2019 version first. Right?
Wrong... we re talking about 2021 and not 2019.

Hi Paul,
I have the same issue for my upgrade from 2017 to 2021. It doesn't show up among my licences. Please advice. Thank you!
Karin
Hello Karin Unander-Scharin
You have an available upgrade in your SDL account and you have to process it in order to have the 2021 license available in your account.
How to upgrade your license: https://gateway.rws.com/csm?id=kb_article_view&sysparm_article=KB0039975
Thank you,
Sorin
Hi Sorin,
I confirm this solved the problem, thank you! My feedback would be that this was not very clearly marked. Having already installed 2021, it did not make sense to upgrade the 2017 licence. It seemed it might only cause issues. Perhaps it should say something related to "new purchase" or "2021". Just a suggestion! Thank you again for your help!
Karin
Thanks. Yes, I have purchased the Plus version - but it is an upgrade from Studio 2019. In this case I usually have to de-activate the older version in order to activate the new one.
I think you are confusing two things, or you are just confusing me! You said this:
in order to activate the product on a second machine I might have to de-activate the 2019 version first.
To activate on a second machine suggests you want to run this on two machines at the same time. Hence my answer.
This time you said this:
it is an upgrade from Studio 2019. In this case I usually have to de-activate the older version in order to activate the new one.
In this case you will have to deactivate the product in your SDL Account, but you DO NOT have to deactivate the product itself. This way you can continue to run 2019 on the first machine until it tops working, or you have to reinstall. You will never be able to re-licence 2019 on a different machine to the one you run 2021 on because you have exchanged it for the new one.
