Place the installation file on a local hard drive or even better on the desktop. Then right click on it and use "Run as administrator" (or similar - my OS is German).
If it doesn't help, check if your download is ok. Download the installation file once again and try with that one.

Jerzy! I followed your instructions but it didn't work. When installation, it stops at 'Legacy compatibility module' and starts showing the error windows. I have downloaded it about 6 times. I already read the notes and the guide but I can't solve the problem.
What else can I do?

Editing of my posting does not work properly. A better article would be this: kb.sdl.com

Hi! I don't understand what to do to solve the problem. Is it a problem of my computer or the program? I am Mexican :)
I'm sorry but it is too technical for me and I don't know how to follow these instructions.
Go to Start - Run and type regedit
Search for the following key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders
Modify any subkeys which point to the invalid drive so that they point to C:\
Sorry for this, but then you will need someone to do that for you.
For unknown reasons you (someone on your computer) seem to have changed the local default folders.
But OTOH why not just do, what the instruction says?
Enter "REGEDIT" in the search field after clicking the Start button, run regedit.exe, shown in the search results.
You will see keys on the left side with a small triangle (►) in front.
Click the ► sign in front of HKEY_CURRENT_USER. Do so subsequently, until you touch User Shell Folders.
When you click on the User Shell Folders, in the right part of the window you will see some paths. Correct any, which does NOT point either to %userprofile% or C:
To change, right click the entry, choose "Change" and replace the wrong drive letter by c:

Hi Karina,
I think you should contact the support team and they can help you out. You're entitled to help for licensing and installation issues. Go to the Knowledgebase;
Then go to the tab called Solution Finder ( kb.sdl.com ) and now go here;
Download & Installation Problems
- I use SDL Trados Studio and/or SDL MultiTerm 2009, 2011 or 2014
-- I receive an error message during installation
--- I have disabled UAC during installation / I do not have Win Vista 7/8
---- None of the error messages match my issue / I tried the suggested resolution....
So if you have tried everything suggested, when you get to this point you'll be presented with a form to contact support. Complete all the fields in the form making sure your email address is entered correctly or nobody will be able to get back in touch with you.
Also use the Chrome browser to log the case if you have it; you'll get more success in completing the form.
