I have purchased a perpetual license however on account page (and when activated) it only grants 40 days.

This is because the payment for this license is not yet registered in our system. As soon as the payment is registered the Expiry date will be removed from your license and it will become perpetual / permanent.
You can activate the license now and when the Expiry date is removed just deactivate and reactivate the license from Studio.
