Connect Multiterm to Studio

Hi,

Since I installed SDL Trados on my new pc, the Multiterm termbases no longer connect to Studio. I get a message every time I start up Studio and indeed there is no way to match terms in my translation.

How can I solve this?

  • Hi, this is what the error message looks like when I click on a document to translate:

     Error message in Trados Studio stating 'Could not connect to 'English to Dutch', 'Russian to Dutch', 'NL-En' termbases, so you cannot use them for term recognition.'

    Once in Studio, this is what I get under Terminology:

    Trados Studio Terminology Management window showing 'English to Dutch (Metadata)', 'Russian to Dutch', and 'NL-En' termbases with 'Not connected' status and red cross icons.

    So it looks like the system somehow 'knows' that I have termbases but they don't connect and I can't add anything.

    All the terminology fields are grey:

    Trados Studio interface with greyed out terminology options including 'Show Translations', 'Add New Term', and 'Quick Add New Term'.

    And yes, my system is fully up-to-date (I re-ran everything, although updates are installed automatically, but I get the same message when starting up). There is no update available for Trados / Multiterm either.
