do not know how to import the translation that I had completed on the trial version

Hello,

I changed from a free-trial version of STUDIO to a yearly subscription. I forgot to bring with me the project I had been doing on the free-trial version. However, I have the source file and the target file (about 70% of text translated) saved on my laptop. I have created a new project in the subscription version of TRADOS but do not know how to import the translation that I had completed on the trial version. Can you point me to a YouTube video or some other answer?

Thanks.

  • I am unable to get the target text to appear when I open the project.

As I noted before you seem to have created a nested project by creating a new project within an existing project.  Try opening all the *.sdlxliff files you can find under the parent folder "Amadeo".  Work through the folders you have created and open each sdlxliff one at a time.  I think it's likely that one of them will contain the translations.

The sdlxliff files are the ones with this icon:

Two red arrows pointing to Trados Studio sdlxliff file icons, one with a document and green checkmark, the other with a Word document icon.

If you open File Explorer and check the box to show the file extensions it will be easier for you to find the right files:

Screenshot of File Explorer with a red arrow pointing to the 'File name extensions' checkbox, indicating it should be checked to show file extensions.
