"Service 'Sdl.Platform.Services.ITelemetryService'could not be started" error

Question

I've just upgraded Trados Studio 2017 to 2021 and am unable to open the software - keep getting the following error message: "Service 'Sdl.Platform.Services.ITelemetryService'could not be started". I don't understand the solution.

 I think the KB from Ana-Loredana may be the best approach to solving this problem:

 Note that the location you need is this one: 
 c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\Studio16\ 
 The KB needs updating to include the 2021 version ( Vlad Bondor )

 There can be a number of causes for this- depending on the exception.
