cannot dectivate my 2nd licence 2017

I would like to deactivate my licence for SDL Trados Studio 2017 Freelance Plus, because after an upgrade of my system (notebook),  I would like to upgrade to SDL Trados 2019 Freelance PLus. (I have already bought this version and upgraded my PC (with the first activation) a couple of month ago.) However, I can neither deactivate the licence 2017 out of the program on my notebook nor can I deactivate this licence on the SDL website, because under *all licences* it is not displayed any longer.
Looking for some advice. Thank you :-)

  • Hello Kristin,

We normally encourage users to have both versions installed on the same device, as Studio 2017 can be used on the same device with Studio 2019 (if you have this version installed and activated). In this case, Studio 2017 will work in the first 30 days in trial mode, then it will detect the license for Studio 2019 and will continue to work.

However, this is your call, and if you wish to simply not use Studio 2017 anymore (because you feel it will take too much of your resources), you can go ahead and only use Studio 2019.

You don't have to remove anything from your registry when uninstalling Studio 2017.

    Best regards,

    Adrian
