Problem with MT use in 2021 Studio version

I feel lost - I bought Trados and I cannot

make the Machine Translation tool work in it, which is supposed to be operational.

  • Dear Sorin, thank you for your quick answer again.  I am worried because I paid 380 euros the other day for this software and it does not work correctly, I have to reinstall the previous version and cannot have the guarantee not to lose 380 euros...  I feel upset about this situation.

    Just to be sure: you are writing that you can reset the license from your end, does this mean you are part of SDL TRADOS team? If so then I shall make a try following your instructions. Thank you.

  • Just a quick note on your question.  You can always see if someone responding works for RWS (therefore part of the Trados team... no more SDL) by looking hovering over their name:

    I revert to you as I followed your instructions, desactivated my license, uninstalled my current version, installed the previous version you sent to me and reactivated my license for that version. Then, I tried again the MT tool.

    I have a couple of questions still I am afraid:

    When I click on MT comparison, in the window which shows up the only one option is "SDL Language Cloud". Yesterday it was the same case. Is'nt it supposed to show  more options?

    When I tick the "SDL Language Cloud" and my file and click on "'generate report", the Excel file does not contain any translation! Yesterday it was the same problem. No translation showing up. How can I address this?

    I have the impression that the Machine Translation Tool which is supposed to work is not working in my case. Maybe I am wrong. Would you please help me?

  • I followed the steps described on the following page: https://www.trados.com/fr/products/machine-translation/access-nmt-in-studio.html

    1. in project parameters I added the use of "SDL Language Cloud"' though it does not allow me to choose the language pairs.

    2. I could not find the window to open 'SDL Language Cloud" (it is not clicable) in order to select "machine translation" for it.

    Is there any installation problem?

    I did not remove the "multiterm SR2" package which I installed a couple of days ago. Should I have removed it, too, to install a previous verion? If so, where can I get the previous version please?

  • Dear Paul, dear Sorin, I am sorry to write again but I have a urgent matter.

    I paid for the software 2021 Freelance version the other day and I cannot make the automatic machine translation module work though it is supposed to be included.

    I heard now from an experienced German freelancer that the 2021 version had many problems and that he had to switch over to the 2019 version. I would like still to keep the 2021 version but i need iyour help to solve the problem with the automatic machine translation tool. I do not think I have to pay for a support contrat as it is an installation and software problem I am trying to solve. The software I bought is supposed to work. I was already obliged to install the previous version because of technical issues on the software but this did not solve the problem.
