SDL Studio crashes repeatedly and MultiTerm stops responding for no reason

Studio 2021 has been crashing repeatedly over the past month or so. In addition, I am finding MultiTerm appears to lose a connection to the Termbase I am using without any rhyme or reason: sometimes it works fine, other times the respective term does not appear at all, even though I know for definite that it is in the Termbase. I have read somewhere that a potential solution is to delete old versions of the program. I recently purchased a new PC and have only installed Studio 2021, so this cannot be an issue. Another suggestion was to delete registry items. I am unsure of the best way to to do this, so any help/suggestions would be much appreciated. Or is there any other solution I could try?

    First of all, thank you for taking the time to reply to my message. 

    With regard to your queries:

    no, I do not receive any error messages. I have found that I can be working on a segment and Studio just crashes from time to time. I have noticed it does seem to happen with one client more than others, particularly when I am using several dictionaries simultaneously. I'm not sure if that's anything of note;

    my resources are all stored locally (after having been downloaded).

    With regard to my MultiTerm issue, the same thing seems to happen with multiple clients. A term does not appear in the Term Recognition window, even though I know it is definitely in the Termbase. I have tried linking and re-linking the respective dictionary, but the issue appears to happen sporadically. This is rather frustrating now, especially when working on large jobs where terminology is essential...
