Failing installation of the License Manager of Trados 2007 under Windows 11

Hello!

I have been using Trados version 2007 for very many years. I have developed many procedures related to this version that are indispensable to me in my daily work. That is why I would like to stay with this version for the moment. I have been trying to install the program on a newly purchased notebook with Windows 11 for a few days. The installation fails when registering the program and starting and installing the license manager. During an installation under Windows 10 two years ago everything had worked without problems. It does seem to be a Windows 11 problem. I also just did a test install on Windows 7 and it also worked fine. Can you help me or can you tell me who can help me?

Kind regards

  • I think you'll struggle to find anyone who can help you with an installation of this version of the product these days.  At least I doubt we have any technical support engineers actively working in our teams today who have ever seen this application, and to try to keep this working on more and more modern operating systems when it hasn't been supported for over a decade is quite a challenge.

In my opinion, if you insist on moving to a modern operating system you should probably consider installing a virtual machine and running something more appropriate inside it.

Having said all this, perhaps there are some users who have done this and might be able to help, but I don't think you'll get any assistance from the Trados team.
