Cloud subscription has expired? How come, thought that was part of Studio 2022, how come that can even expire?

And of course no way to "renew" (as I really don't have time to sit here and wait for it to be solved, and of course I have this TM in the Cloud instead of Local. Stupid me for trusting Trados with that.

You can check this yourself if you go to the support tab in your account.  If you don't have 2022 already you will probably need to click the request a quote link, but if you have it 2022 then the price should be displayed.

If you're purchasing for the first time, using the online purchase in the Trados Store, then when you place an order and go all the way to the checkout you'll see the cost before you actually purchase.

It'll be around 19% of the licence price which is on a par with an upgrade cost between major versions when you consider these things... and in my opinion preferable:

    • you always know what to budget as part of your business spread through the year (probably 10 to 15 euros a month for a Freelancer)
    • you get upgrades included
    • you get unlimited support requests on any topic
    • you'll have remote access by our technical support team if required
    • you have live chat for license resets

I know many people say they don't need all this because they know their way around a computer and their software.  But I would pay it, and I do for other software applications I use regularly at home.  The assurance of always getting help when needed, and always getting the latest upgrades is a no-brainer for me.

  • Yeah didn't know free upgrades were a part of that, it makes a lot more compelling really. Might consider it now because often I can't afford to lose time, there's always a deadline coming up.

In fact, a maintenance and support contract is especially attractive for freelancers, even more than for companies because the fee is calculated as a percentage (20 %) of the official price of the software. And for freelance license this amounts to less than 200 euros a year. Considering that this gives you free version updates and access to support, I believe that it is quite interesting. If you can avoid to lose a day of work when you have a problem, the 200 euros have already been amortizedGrin
