Hello Community,
I'm a 2021 Trados Studio Freelance user. I am also not technically inclined. Bear with me.
I've upgraded from Trados 2017 to 2019 a few years ago, and more recently (6 months or so) to 2021. I am now taking the time to figure out a few 2017-related issues.
Everytime I turn on my computer, I get a "SDLTradosStudio2017_SR1\setup.exe" pop-up window. Even when I agree to the set-up installation and go through the entire process (if only to get rid of the pop-up), the same message shows up once I've restarted the computer. No idea what is going on or how to fix it.
I want to uninstall Studio 2017 to solve the entire situation (I haven't used 2017 for at least 2-3 years) but still have a number of files (TMs, projects...) saved under the main 2017 (Documents) folder. Would that have an impact on my (ongoing) TMs, termbases and projects? Would I lose anything important/useful? If I were to uninstall 2017, what should I do beforehand? (everything is backed-up, of course.)
Any suggestions/solutions would be much appreciated. If the info is available somewhere in our Community or in Trados documentation, let me know, because I can't find anything clear cut.
Thanks!
clarification
