Several versions / conflict?

I have
2019 (keeping it has helped me in moments where 2021 was acting up - I have posted about it)
2021
recently 2022, but prudently I did not activate the (legitimate, purchased) licence yet.

Apparently, one can only have 1 licence
but does the most recent licence (2022) cover former versions
and can there be interferences between the installations?

If confident with 2022, I can suppress 2019 and keep 2021 as the fallback installation.

NB: My current machine runs Windows 7.
Is it somewhat/highly advisable to fully install 2022 only on Win 10/11? (I am considering getting a new computer.

Thanks

This has nothing to do with running them in parallel.  Both my quotes are accurate.

But I take your point.  It is never a smart idea to upgrade in the middle of a project.  Even if you do upgrade and have both versions running on your machine I would suggest you always finish out existing projects in the old version and only start new ones in the new one.  Most of the time you won't have any problems, but if the version you are upgrading from is using filetypes that happen to have been completely updated, or replaced even, then you could indeed have problems.
