Thank you for your detailed response. Everything seems to look perfectly. Have you tried to drag & drop the files onto the Project Wizard window? Or are you using the "Add file" button?
I am quite sure having had this problem in the past, but unfortunately fail to remember, if I repaired it myself or got help from SDL at that time. Therefor I would ask Ana-Loredana Gabur for more help, as my only solution now would be connecting to your PC and "stochern im Dunkeln"...
- Drag&drop the files into the Welcome view window unfortunately does not work at all.
- Clicking on "Browse" in the Welcome view window opens the Wizard (which is fine). Same for using Ctrl + N to "Create a new Project". However, in both cases, impossible to add any files: Right-clicking into the file list box shows the 3 greyed-out options "Merge file - "Change file usage" - "remove file".
I'm pretty sure I am overlooking something... and/or making a stupid mistake... Sorry to take so much of your time!
If drag & drop does not work, something is deeply wrong there. Hopefully Loredana will take over here. Otherwise I could arrange a meeting with you online and try to repair that. Unfortunately, there is no guarantee I would succeed.
Let's see... I will post any progess/solution that we might find. Meanwhile, thank you very (!) much for your time, ideas and effort!
You're welcome. Unfortunately, Google refuses to help. And even if I know, that asking the right question should bring you the correct answer, I simply fail to formulate the right question
If you are willing to take some risk and a possible necessity to reinstall Studio, you could go here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Trados\Trados Studio\Studio17 and find a file called SDLTradosStudio.exe.config. If you close Studio you should be able to rename this file to something like SDLTradosStudio.exe.confi_ After restart of Studio the program should automatically recreate this file. Should this not help or Studio fail to start, you can always rename back to SDLTradosStudio.exe.config and this should allow you to work as before. However, this is not a proven method, just an idea...
Dear Ana-Loredana
I have had a look at Bettinas PC. She is able to create new projects using project templates, this works.
However, when trying to use Drag & Drop from the home screen, the project creation does not work. This means, the files added per drag & drop on Studio window do not appear in the One-Step-Project-Wizard, the file list there remains empty regardless how many files have been added in the previous step. Unfortunately I cannot tell where the error comes from. Could you please help?
Does by any chance the other way work- adding files by using browse?
Also not sure why the issue but on this article https://gateway.sdl.com/communityknowledge?articleName=000003029 it is stated For the drag and drop feature to work, Microsoft Internet Explorer 10 or later is required. If your computer has an older version of the Microsoft internet browser installed, the old Welcome view is displayed . Can you please check also please which version of Microsoft internet explorer it is used?
Loredana
Using "Browse" has the same result—no files in the project wizards file list. I cannot tell, if MS Explorer is installed, but hasn't it been dropped already by Microsoft? I seem not to have it on my Win11 machine. And in my case the file list remains empty too. So it looks like S2022 has a limited functionality in Windows 11. Great, we have detected a new culprit (bug?) here.
