URGENT: Can Studio 2017 and 2022 Freelance coexist?

I have been using Trados 2017 Freelance. Now I purchased the upgrade to 2022 Freelance. I absolutely need to keep both versions, as 2022 is malfunctioning with WorldServer packages I receive from a client (no match level indication, status is reset for all matches, which is a HUGE issue). When upgrading I get the following message: "Upgrading means the license(s), indicated below on the left, will be removed and will be replaced with the license(s) shown on the right. This process can not be reversed." Will I still be able to use my 2017 copy? Thank you

  • Hi Paul,

Thank you very much for your prompt reply!

    1.

make sure you have this app installed - https://appstore.rws.com/plugin/103/

Thanks for suggesting this; yes, I installed it, and I can smoothly handle all of the packages, with the exception of an ongoing project containing software strings; every couple of weeks I receive tiny updates to the full set of strings (~350 files), and not being able to see the match level and the TU status makes it totally unmanageable Disappointed

Yes, so long as you don't deactivate it through the Help ribbon.  Once you've upgraded, if you deactivate you won't be able to get it back

This is good news! So you say I can proceed, safely ignoring the threatening message "Upgrading means the license(s), indicated below on the left, will be removed and will be replaced with the license(s) shown on the right. This process can not be reversed."?

    I really appreciate your help!
