   Yes, so long as you don't deactivate it through the Help ribbon.  Once you've upgraded, if you deactivate you won't be able to get it back.

Thanks for suggesting this; yes, I installed it, and I can smoothly handle all of the packages, with the exception of an ongoing project containing software strings; every couple of weeks I receive tiny updates to the full set of strings (~350 files), and not being able to see the match level and the TU status makes it totally unmanageable

This is good news! So you say I can proceed, safely ignoring the threatening message "Upgrading means the license(s), indicated below on the left, will be removed and will be replaced with the license(s) shown on the right. This process can not be reversed."?

Well, as long as you do keep in mind that the message is absolutely correct.  You will lose your 2017 licence as you are trading it in for a 2022 licence.  But despite this, as long as you don't deactivate it on your computer through here then it will work for as long as you have it running without issues on the same computer:
