Migration issues

I watched the recent proz.com event but did not make any move to upgrade since I was having capacity problems, running on an old OS and seriously having to migrate. Now that I have the new computer online, I would like to know how I can recover my Studio 2011 license and upgrade to 2015. I understand installation varies with the OS, which was why I didn't do it earlier.

Installation is very easy and does not depend on your OS. You simply need to download the installer from the Download area of your customer account and then execute it.
There are two installers: one for Studio 2015 and one for Multiterm Desktop 2015.
You can install them one after the other. I usually install Multiterm first and then Studio, but it doesn't really matter.
Once you have installed Studio 2015, you may use it for 30 days with all the features. After these 30 days, you'll need to enter your license number, which means that you will need to click on "Upgrades available" in your customer account and upgrade your current license to 2015.
