Failed to initialize view ’SimpleStartView after installing TradosStudio2022SR1_17.1.8.17828.exe

Dear Colleagues, 

I am having a problem. Yesterday, I installed the recent version of Trados Studio only to get the message above when I wanted to launch Studio, and there is no way I can open Studio. I did everything that I know of, from resetting Studio to removing all plugins, etc, but all failed. Can you please help me?

    The problem is that it was working fine with all plugins without a problem! All I did was to install the latest version of Studio, following which I am not able to start Studio at all. I did everything from removing all plugins, resetting studio, fully uninstalling studio and reinstalling once again, etc, but non of that worked. I looked at the community and knowledge base and also the problem persists.

    The error log does indeed point towards one (at least) of the apps you have installed as it's failing to work correctly with the "SimpleStartView" in Studio.  Can you confirm that you have reset Studio completely and also removed any apps completely?

    So first rename this folder:

    c:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\Trados\Trados Studio\Studio17\

    to

    c:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\Trados\Trados Studio\Studio17_old\

    Then delete these folders:

    %APPDATA%\Trados\Trados Studio\17\Plugins

    %LOCALAPPDATA%\Trados\Trados Studio\17\Plugins

    c:\ProgramData\Trados\Trados Studio\17\Plugins

    Does Trados start after you have done this?

    If it does you then need to look carefully at your apps as I know you typically work with a hell of a lot of apps installed.  Make sure you only reinstall from the integrated appstore and also don't do it all at once so you have an easier job of locating any that are problematic... and there could be more than one!
