Sorry, I have a follow up question.

I have Freelance Plus (hence the extra activation). If I reset my licence from my PC (where I am logged on and where Trados is working), will I then be able to reactivate it both on this PC and on the mended laptop? I'm asking because I need to be able to start working again with Trados on this PC as soon as possible.

It is not necessary to reset the license from the current PC. You can reset any of them (preferably the one from the broken PC if you can differentiate them after the activation date) and then activate the available license on the laptop.

Hi there,

Thanks again. I thought the reset was "global" but from your explanation, it seems to be device-specific.

So I log onto my account on the laptop, download and install the Trados software, reset the licence from that laptop and then use that activation that will hopefully become available? Is this the correct procedure? I can do all this with Trados open and running on my PC?

Sorry for the extra questions, but I want to clear I am doing the right thing. I cannot differentiate the licences by date (there is one Freelance Plus licence, which includes an extra activation).

Yes, the steps you mentioned are correct. The license from your current PC will not be deactivated regardless of what you do from your account.

Hi Sorin,

Thank you very much for your help. I followed that process and it worked fine (I had to activate "offline" with a certificate because it wouldn't connect to the server, but that was simple enough, following the instructions).
