reinstallation of Trados Studio on a notebook after reset

Hello,

I need to reinstall Studio on a notebook which has been reset.

I tried to follow the procedure but it doesn't work. I don't know if you remember, we already worked on this last summer, but the issue remained insolved and you closed the case without having found a real solution (I was on holiday and it was difficult  for me to follow the issue properly).

Now, the need for Trados on that PC has arisen again, so I kindly ask your support to solve the problem.

I wait for your kind reply and look forward to hearing from you.

Best regards,

  • Hi Sorin,

the problem is quite complex. As you know, I had tried to install the programme last summer. In that occasion I downloaded Trados, Multiterm and the License manager from my RWS account and installed them on the PC.

In that occasion the problem was not with the installation but with the activation, and at that point (after some attempts) we stopped the process and you closed the case. Now, I'm trying to uninstall the previous version in order to try the whole process again, but it doesn't work. When i try to unistall the programme from the PC control panel the following error message appears:

Error message during Trados Studio 2021 SR2 uninstallation stating 'Setup did not complete. The error is: Setup has detected a different version of this product already installed.' with an OK button.

I have cancelled every folder and file related to trados on the PC, but the system still detects a previous version and I don't have an idea of what it can be...  Maybe there are specific tools to unistall the programme? Can you help me with this?

    Thanks,

    Serena
