"Maximum allowed concurrent activations"

Hi all,

I've been using Trados Studio 2022 on a new computer for over a month without issue (I was literally working on a project yesterday) using the Trados Freelance Personal subscription.

All of a sudden, I'm getting this error popping up:

Trados Studio 2022 SK2 Product Activation window showing a Perpetual License under the name Lauren Marney with an error message stating 'Reached the maximum allowed concurrent activations '1' for your subscription. Deactivate other Studio instances or consider upgrading your subscription.'

I don't have Trados installed on another computer, and like I say it was working fine just yesterday. I saw someone post the same issue in the forum and they fixed it by using this suggestion: https://gateway.rws.com/csm?id=kb_article_view&sysparm_article=KB0039217

I've deleted my connected devices, uninstalled and reinstalled Trados, but no joy, I'm still getting the same issue.

I have deadlines today and urgently need this fixed. Can anyone help? I find it really frustrating that to get actual support from Trados we're expected to pay for maintenance on top of what is already very expensive software.

  • I have the subscription version of Studio 2022 (which I only bought 2 months ago) and this just happened to me. I found an explanation somewhere about deregistering the devices linked to the account from the website and then reactivating. I tried that and initially thought it was working but now it has just kicked me out of the program again due to having too many activations or something. I have never activated it on another PC. This is just what I need while I am working a weekend to meet a tight deadline. Luckily I still have the licence for Studio 2019 so I have had to install that to be able to continue working. This really is a joke though. Also Studio 2022 crashes about 5 times an hour some times. A joke of a product and a joke of a company.
