Problem deactivating one use licence to activate a "plus" licence

I upgraded from Trados 2015 Freelance to Freelance Plus to be able to use the program in two computers. Now I only see my Plus licence on my SDL account. When I try to deactivate my "regular" Freelance licence in order to activate the "plus" one, Trados cannot deactivate the licence and says "Revocation is not allowed for this entitlement". My problem is, ok, I can install it on my laptop and I will still have one extra activation available... but I'm afraid the program might stop working on my desktop, because the activation code doesn't exist anymore. My problem is, how can I deactivate it? Because, since it doesn't appear in my account, I cannot generate an offline deactivation certificate either. I feel trapped :(

  • Hi Christian,

    Apologies for not spotting this earlier, I hope you managed to resolve this already? Just in case you didn't then the best thing to do would be to log a support case and the licensing team are pretty quick to react and help you out.

    Go to the Knowledgebase;

    http://kb.sdl.com

    Then go to the tab called Solution Finder ( http://kb.sdl.com/?cid=23&tab=sf ) and now go here;

    Licensing Problems
    - I use SDL Trados Studio 2015 / SDL Passolo 2015
    -- I need to have my license reset

    Pick the correct route for you and if appropriate you will be presented with a form that you can fill in to generate a support request and you will be contacted, normally within a day.

    Also use the Chrome browser to log the case if you have it; you'll get more success in completing the form, and make sure your email address is entered correctly or nobody will be able to get back in touch with you.

    I hope this helps.
