Just so we`re on the same page: It appears that the problem I was having to install SDL2019 was that the new Windows 11 system (Japanese language version) has a feature called smart app control - that blocks installation of any software Microsoft does not recognize. Once I understood that irritating feature I was able to turn it off while I completed the installation. It appears that SDL2019 is installed.

However, I am unable to deactivate my previous version on my old machine. I need help returning the license so I can activate my newly downloaded version on my new system.

I`m hoping someone can help me with that.

Hello and thank you for helping me.

In my version of SDL2019, I go to Help -> Product Activation and click Deactivate.

When I do, it asks me if I really want to do that. When I click Yes, it attempts to return the license, and

then I get this message in an error screen.

Deactivation failed.
Could not connect to the activation server. Check the activation server address in the provider settings. The request was aborted: Could not create SSL/TLS secure channel.

So you know what the issue may be. I hope you can help me. I think I was able to solve my installation problem, but until I can activate it, I won't know for sure.
