Cannot start Trados Studio 2024 after reinstallation

Hi,

Yesterday I updated Trados 2024 to version 18.0.2.xxxx. After restarting Windows, I can't open Trados 2024 anymore. The launcher starts the application but when the "Loading Files..." message appears on the start-up window, the window just shuts down without displaying the app. There are no tracks of the application in the Task Manager once this has happened.

I uninstalled it. Then installed again version 18.0.1.xxxx, but the issue also happens -start-up window begins, then simply disappears after "Loading Files..." message. No error message at all is displayed.

Please help! Slight smile

Thanks!

In the meantime, based on the information you have provided, here is a suggested answer to your question:

    Hello,

It seems like you're experiencing issues with Trados Studio 2024 after updating to version 18.0.2.xxxx and then reinstalling version 18.0.1.xxxx. Here are some steps you can try to resolve this issue:

Step 1: Perform a clean reinstallation of Trados Studio. Uninstall the software, restart your computer, and then reinstall Trados Studio. Make sure to install the software as an administrator.

Step 2: If the issue persists, try resetting the software to its default settings. To do this, close all RWS applications, navigate to 'C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\Trados\Trados Studio\', and rename the 'Studio17' folder to 'Studio17_old'. Then, restart Trados Studio.

Step 3: If the problem still persists, it might be due to some issues with your Windows user profile. Try creating a new Windows user profile and install Trados Studio there to see if the issue persists.

Step 4: If none of the above steps work, it might be a good idea to roll back to the previous version of Trados Studio that was working fine on your system until a solution is found.

Please note that these are general troubleshooting steps and the issue might be specific to your system. If the problem continues, it would be helpful to know more about your system specifications and any recent changes you've made to your system.
