Trados Studio 2024 (CU2) - How to reset a license?

My Trados Studio 2024 does not start anymore after I installed WorldServer components. I've tried to fix it by uninstalling WorldServer components again and the problem remains unsolved.

Apparently I have no other choice now but to uninstall Studio 2024 and re-install it. However, in doing this, I would lose my license I already activated. And there seems to be no reset license function for Studio 2024.

I would be really greatful if someone could give me a piece of advise on this issue!

  • Hi Elisa,

    Thank you for the reply.

My Trados Studio 2024 was upgraded to the version 18.0.2.3255 (based on the installation .exe file of the program I downloaded most recently). Sorry I cannot provide the screenshot of the version shown in my Trados now. Because it won't start.

For the WorldServer components, I downloaded "18.2.2047.0 - Trados Studio 2024 (CU2)" -- the highest one in the drop-down list.

Screenshot of a 'Download App' dialog with a dropdown menu for selecting the version of Trados Studio 2024 (CU2), version 18.2.2047.0, with an 'I agree' checkbox for terms and conditions, and 'Cancel' and 'Continue' buttons.

After installing the components, I cannot start my Trados at all. It just won't start.

I found an article on gateway.sdl.com about how to reset a license:

Screenshot of an RWS support article titled 'How to Reset your License in 3 Easy Steps', showing a 'Reset my License' button and instructions with images illustrating the steps, including a highlighted 'Reset License' button.

But in my account, I can't find this "reset license" button.

Screenshot of a licensing and subscription management page in German, with a warning icon and a message about the absence of a validity date for Trados Studio 2024 Freelance Plus, and a highlighted message about failed online deactivation.
