Error message "Failed to add window command bar extensions"

Question

I am getting this error message when I try to start Studio 2022. 
 I have tried all the solutions listed here: https://sdl.my.site.com/CommunityKnowledge?articleName=000001414 except Workaround 3 since the link doesn't work. 
 Nothing has helped so far. 
 I have several deadlines very soon, so would appreciate any help with this. 
 I also had licenses for Studio 2021 and 2019 and would happily switch to using either of those again if possible since I had a much better experience with them on the whole.

Can you try this? - Showing hidden files, folders and extensions on Windows operating systems - RWS Customer Support . Let me know if something doesn't work.
