Trouble of starting Studio 2024 after upgrading it from Studio 2021

Hello, Please advice what I need to do to solve the issue and achieve my goal.

GOAL:
I want to use "OpenAI Provider" on the upgraded Studio 2024 (18.0.2.3255)

ISSUE:
I'm having trouble starting Studio 2024 Professional after upgrading it from Studio 2021.

COTEXT:
I have successfully upgraded from Trados Studio 2021 Professional (Network) to Trados Studio 2024 Professional.
I have deactivated the license for Studio 2021 before the upgrade, and uninstalled Studio 2021 after the upgrade.
Having encountered the issue, I uninstalled and reinstalled Studio 2024, but the issue remains.

(1) Studio 2024 has successfully been installed.

Windows Start Menu:
Windows Start Menu showing Trados Studio 2024 highlighted with a red box.

(2) The license has successfully been activated.

License details for Trados Studio 2024 Professional showing 1 user, 1 in use, 0 available, and activation date of 24-06-2025.

(3) Studio starts but disappears immediately after this screen.

Trados Studio 2024 splash screen with version 18.0.2.3255 and Japanese text reading 'Application module is loading...'.

Thanks,
Chiaki Yamaoka

  • Hi Elisa,

Thanks again for your advice.  The 1st solution didn't help me as I don't see the relevant folder "Studio18".  However, after I did the 2nd solution, Studio 2024 successfully opened.

Now, the next problem to achieve my GOAL is that I do not see the "AI Assistant" anywhere in the View tab on Studio 2024.

I just installed "OpenAI Provider" and "DeepL Translation Provider" and restarted Studio 2024.  Then, the initial issue came back!!  Studio 2024 disappears in the middle of the starting process.  Exactly the same issue as I described in my first post.

Can you guide me on how I should proceed?

    Regards,
    Chiaki
