Studio 2019 worked on my laptop when it was connected to the LAN, but it didn't work in WLAN mode. In the meantime, it doesn't even work if reconnected to the LAN.

I had this problem before, twice. It was resolved with RWS support. Studio 2019 worked on my laptop when it was connected to the LAN. Some time ago, I used my laptop in WLAN mode, but Studio didn't work. I was requested to activate the licence. I reconnected the laptop to the LAN, and Studio worked again. I de- and reconnected the laoptop from/to the lAN, but Studio won't work any more. I am always requested to activate the licence.

    I'm afraid the workaround for this is to activate/deactivate the license when switching networks LAN-WLAN. Or try to activate the license when on WLAN and it may "hold" the activation when moving to LAN again. Trados 2019 has an older system Disk ID+ Ethernet Address which "identifies" computers and this is what causes this situation when changing Ethernet addresses. This system was changed with Trados 2021. 

    Also, the technical and engineering support for Trados 2019 ended in December 2022 and no more updates of any kind were done after that date, so this won't change. Perhaps consider moving to Trados 2024.

    I can do with that problem if you allow me to activate and deactivate the licence as often as I need. For the moment I can only deactivate the licence three times a year, and this limit seems to be exhausted. Please remove this restriction.

    I tried to deactivate and rectivate this licence but it didn't work. So I deactivated another licence to reactivate Studio on my laptop. This means, however, that I can no longer use Studio on that other computer.

    I would like to test your suggestion, but for the moment I can't take the risk to use my laptop in WLAN mode because, according to what I experienced before, I might then be unable to use it in both WLAN and LAN mode.

    You are confusing, I am afraid, activation/deactivation with the reset of license. The reset of license indeed can be done by a user from their RWS account 3 times/year. When this limit is exceeded, a customer can post here and we can open a case with the technical team to reset it (it returns it to Available mode), or if they have an active support contract, they can raise a ticket with the technical team (a contract can be purchased only for current versions).

    The restriction cannot be removed, it is not something that can be done at request, as this is something that is implemented with the account platform itself. I am sure that there are other reasons why this limit exists, but since it is not within my knowledge I cannot offer more information on this.

    Activation/deactivation is done from the software itself and can be done offline or online and there are no limits per year. Since you have 2019, the offline deactivation works better, I have added the videos that show how to do both procedures, to have them at hand:

    However, as I already mentioned above, this is an edition that is no longer supported technically and aside the above workaround I suggested, I'm afraid there is not going to be a change in terms of new updates for the software, we won't have any.

    I indeed confused this. But the problem is that I cannot deactivate the licence if Studio requires me to activate a licence because the option to deactivate is not available then. And I need Studio's "cooperation" if i want do deactivate a licence offline.

    Take for example my "xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx" licence. I was activated for Studio on my laptop. But suddenly, Studio required me to activate the licence (although it had been activated before), so I could only go to my account and deactivate it there. But when using the offline dectivation mode there, i have to use Studio to obtain the Deactivation Certificate, which is not possible then. The only option then ist to reset the licence. 

    Do you understand my problem?
