SDL MultiTerm 2015 installed but won't open - completely up-to-date

  • Hi Felicity,

    Maybe try reinstalling as Admin? So right click on the exe file and select install as Admin. If that doesn't help you probably need to log a support case. Go to the Knowledgebase;

    http://kb.sdl.com

    Then go to the tab called Solution Finder and now go here;

    Download & Installation Problems
    - I use SDL Trados Studio and/or SDL MultiTerm 2009, 2011, 2014 or 2015
    -- The installation went fine but now I get an error message etc
    --- The problem occurs in (pick the appropriate tool/s)
    ---- None of the articles resolved my problem (if they didn’t!)

    Follow the route for your problem and if there is no answer that helps by the time you get to the end you'll be presented with a form to contact support. Complete all the fields in the form making sure your email address is entered correctly or nobody will be able to get back in touch with you.

    Also use the Chrome browser to log the case if you have it; you'll get more success in completing the form.

    Regards

    Paul

  • Hi Paul,

    Thank you very much for your reply.

    I tried installing the program as admin with no success. However I looked at the articles that you suggested in the Knowledgebase and I found one that I hadn't found prior to asking this question. I discovered that this problem was caused by incompatibility with Canon printer drivers. I can now open MultiTerm and everything seems to be working well.

    Kind regards,
    Felicity

  • Hi Paul and Felicity,

    I had the same problem: After installing MultiTerm 2015, the programme would not open, instead Windows showed this message: "Value can not be null. Parameter name : type" in a little window. I also have a Canon printer driver installed.

    The corresponding article in the SDL-Knowledgebase that provides the information to resolve the problem is named "SDLMultiTerm crashes during startup directly after a new installation when installing Canon printer software". Try this link: kb.sdl.com/

    After going through the instruction's steps, everything is working well now.

    Thank's for your advice.

    Kind regards,
    Anne
