Indeed it is not recommended because of the difference in SDL MultiTerm 2019 Core versions. However it should be okay if you install MultiTerm after CU10 (as the core version will then be higher).

The next time you update GroupShare, it will likely install its own version of the core again which may not be compatible with the then-current version of MultiTerm 2019 Desktop so you may have to reinstall MultiTerm at this point.

So the answer to your question is that it will probably work, but you do it at your own risk and you may have version issues further down the line. Personally I would prefer to administrate my termbases from the comfort of my PC rather than have to open a Remote Desktop session every time I want to do this. Is there a specific scenario where logging in remotely is preferable?

thanks a lot!

Large MultiTerm imports usually work much faster when started on the app server itself, and you can continue using your own local MultiTerm while the import is being processed.

I personally preferred the good old times when MultiTerm Administrator was a separate application that  was automatically installed on the application server by the GS installer.
