Superscript character not exported to XLIFF

Question

Hello, 
 I'm using Passolo professional 18.0.178.0 
 My dll source file contains a character for square millimeters, which is displayed in Passolo as folows: 
 Text properties editor:

History:

This character is not exported to xlif, i.e. not translated / reimported properly (just left out it seems:

Does anyone know what kind of character that is and whether it's an issue of the source file's encoding or parsing or... Where should I start investigating? ;-) 
 (BTW: I used a freeware tool to look into the DLL file but even there I don't see the superscript 2., just not displayed...)

Hi Yvonne, 
 
 I think this is a control code character: https://www.compart.com/en/unicode/U+0012 which should not really be used in DLL's. 
 The best would be to check with the developers of the DLL as they might have copied this control code character from somewhere and, I do not think they wanted to include it.

Are you really sure that your developers have used the right character for square millimeter? I created a small test app: 
 
 which then looks perfectly fine in Passolo: 
 
 and in the exported SDLXLIFF:
