I want to align a new version of an English source file with an old version of a German target file (json format). In the new source, I've some strings set to "read-only", they should not be translated. But the old German file still contains a translation for these. Can I exclude these read-only strings from being aligned?
I just did a small test and everything works as expected. When you have set entries to read-only in the source list, then update the translation list and align an existing old target file, it will not import translations when the entry is read only.

Many thanks for your reply. It works when the entries are set to read-only in the source list in the main project. It did not work when set to read-only in the cascaded sub-project. I've set them to read-only in the main project. Thanks.
Yes, when opening and updating the cascaded project, Passolo is taking over data from the base project. This includes the read-only tags and will overwrite any read-only tags that you just inserted into the cased project.The base project is always the master.
