Multiple target terms for one source term in glossaries

Hi,

I added a glossary containing multiple target terms for one source term to a project. However, the entries don't appear in the Terminology tab. It works with the same glossary that doesn't contain multiple target terms for one source term. Is there a restriction for Passolo glossaries that synonyms aren't allowed? Or did I set up the glossary wrong? The glossary with multiple target terms has two lines with the same source term and different target terms.

I couldn't find anythin in the documentation or the knowledge base about it.

I used the Passolo 2018 Translator edition, but we will get the bundles from our client who has the full version eventually. In case, synonyms aren't allowed, I'd like to inform our them.

Thanks!

  • There is no restriction regarding multiple target terms in Passolo glossaries. I created a small glossary file

Screenshot showing two entries in a glossary file with the source term 'Clipboard' and the target terms 'Zwischenablage' and 'Klemmbrett'.

and added it to my Passolo 2018 Translator Edition.

Screenshot of the Glossaries window in Passolo showing a list of glossaries with their file names, folders, languages, and status indicating 'No QuickIndex' and 'QuickIndex available'.

Please note that you need to create the QuickIndex for terminology glossaries. Then I can see both entries, here:

Screenshot of an error message in Passolo stating 'The Clipboard line is too long to paste.' with two target terms 'Zwischenablage' and 'Klemmbrett' highlighted in red.

    and here:

Screenshot of the Term Recognition window in Passolo displaying the source term 'Clipboard' and the corresponding translations 'Zwischenablage' and 'Klemmbrett' with their origin from the glossary file.

Please note that Term Recognition window will display the terms only when you (again) click on the entry.

Maybe there is something wrong with your setup.

    Thank you for your reply.

I created the quick index after I added the glossary. Today, when I checked the bundle again the entries were displayed. Maybe it just took some time to load the glossary. Or it was because I didn't click on the entry, so it didn't show up in the term recognition window.

Thank you for your help! Our client will be glad that it works.
