How perform Smart Review in 2024?

Hello,

we can read here: https://docs.rws.com/1145319/1152571/trados-studio-2024/trados-copilot---smart-review

that "As a reminder, Smart Review is available for all product offerings for an associated fee.".

The questions are:

1. how much does it cost?
2. how to pay?
3. who to pay?
4. where can I find more information about this?

Or does it just refer to the additional costs associated with Azure? In any case, the documentation is quite laconic. I don't know how to configure it to make it work.

When I click the button "Evaluate segment" there's message "You do not have the necessary permissions to perform a Smart Review."

How to make this thing working?

One more thing, there's: "Smart Review gathers data from your linguistic resources that can be used to construct a prompt for the AI: a persona, the terminology preferred, similar translated documents or extractions from the translation memory using preferred style or tone, the instructions of what your goal is and the current translation."

What is "linguistic resources" (in Trados' settings, f.e in TM, there's language resources not linguistic resources) and where/how to setup these resources to be sent to LLM?

BTW: MTQE is not available when working offline only, is that correct?

Regards,

Rafal

  • Hi Rafal,

    1. Smart Review is enabled in Trados Studio in preparation for the general availability of the feature which is delivered through the Cloud platform. We are in the final stages of making this available as a feature that can be purchased. The cost of the feature will vary depending on your product offering and your throughput. We anticipate two different options which would be:
      1. Bring your own Azure OpenAI subscription and configure Smart Review to use your own LLM.
      2. Use an RWS-provided LLM; the exact LLM is not yet fully defined.
    2. Smart Review will be charged on a subscription basis using our subscription platform.
    3. You will pay through the subscription platform.
    4. More information will be available once the product feature is fully commercially available.

The permission to perform Smart Review is linked to your cloud tenant and, since you don't yet have a subscription, that's why you get the error message.

In this context, "linguistic resources" refers to your translation memories and terminology databases. Those are used to check the style and tone and to make sure the required terminology has been used in the translation.

Smart Review is not available if you are not connected to your Trados tenant in the cloud.

I hope this helps and please keep an eye out for more information on Smart Review in the near future.

    Regards,

    David
