ok - please rename (don't delete) this file:
c:\Users\[USERNAME]\Documents\Studio 2017\Projects\projects.xml
Call it projects.xml_old for example
Then restart Studio and try again. All your projects will have disappeared from your list but they won't be gone completely. Just see if this helps when you create a new project. If it does then you can add your projects in again one at a time by using Open Project and selecting the SDLPROJ file for each one.
If it doesn't help then delete this file:
c:\Users\[USERNAME]\Documents\Studio 2017\Projects\projects.xml
And rename projects.xml_old as projects.xml. That will get you back to where you were.

This is not possible. If you renamed the projects.xml file that contains the details of your projects then when you start Studio up again a new one will be created, and this will be empty. Please double check that you are following all of these suggestions correctly.

When getting reading for our call, I gave it one last stab at it, since you didn't seem to optimistic, and I was worried that my system was corrupted as well.
When trying to figure out / find the XML document in the error. I ran into the folder>file above. I uninstalled the app using the plugin manager, then deleted this file (it was in the roaming folder not under studio plugins) , reinstalled and it worked... the cloud url populated as well.
Now I am really hesitant to run pre-translate from the memsource cloud, but I can always download import the TM to achieve the same thing.

Perhaps just for information as it's not too relevant given you resolved this but that is the Studio plugin folder. Plugins can be in any of these locations:
c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\14\Plugins\
c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Local\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\14\Plugins\
c:\ProgramData\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\14\Plugins\

I think there are limitations with the memsource facility. One is tag handling which needs addressing I think as their TM doesn't seem to take tags in the target language... at least when I was testing this earlier this was my experience. I'm not sure where the issue is but so far nobody seems to be complaining so we probably won't address this very soon.
On pretranslation... this probably has to do with many things, internet connection being one of them. But I'm not sure how much validation went into testing this feature with the memsource team. Again, until you mentioned this I haven't seen many users complaining so perhaps it's another one that we may get to in the future but no urgency. Certainly needs better investigation under some controlled conditions to find out where any problems are coming from.
I also noted you asked me some other questions around UpLift. Can I ask you to post them into the community please and provide some examples we can use to help answer your questions more easily. I'm sure all your questions will have great value for others too.
