Perhaps we have other users in here tasked with a similar process who might be able to help.  I'd be interested to hear more about how people work around this problem today... and also ideas for how this could be improved so when we do look at it we can cover as many needs as possible.

Thanks for your reply Paul, I think the only option i have open to me at the moment is to use a management tool that allows me to copy the plugins to all the desktops and then launch each plugin on all the systems and use a Key sequence manager to send the required keystrokes to run through the dialogue boxes to complete the installation. 

For our team here it's great when we can achieve this using MSi or exe's with silent switches to enable silent remote deployment using SCCM.

If we didn't have the use of our management software in this case i think we would have had to visit all 64 systems individually. 

I would love to hear if anyone else does this in a different way too,

I am running into same issue of deploying SDL plugin packages silently through Software center to our enterprise clients. Did you guys find any solution or work around to this issue?

Hi Rajan,

The workaround for me was to use 3rd partry software (ABTutor) to copy and install the plugins over to the clients and then use a launch faciltly to run the plugins on all the clients and then use a key sequece manager to run through the dilalogue boxes to finish the installation (this is all done using ABTutor).

It's a bit long winded but better than having to visit 64 systems one at a time.

I'm not entirely sure, but wouldn't it be possible to copy the sdlplugin file(s) to C:\ProgramData\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\15\Plugins\Packages?

They should be available for all users then (upon starting Trados Studio), no matter if they've already logged in.

I will definitely try this option of copying plugin file to packages folder. If this works, I don' t think it will be difficult for the packaging team to just write a simple script to achieve this.

yeah a simple xcopy script could do it but they will probably do something a lot fancier let us know how it goes please.
