I have an agency client that applies a degressive scale for traditional translations (100% of my agreed word rate for New segments, followed by decreasing percentages of my word rate for increasing percentages of Partial Match). So far, so normal :-)
I have agreed to be paid a lower word rate for Post-Editing work based on SDL machine translation. Again, OK. But I wonder whether it is normal to apply the same degressive scale of percentages to my reduced word rate, as this agency does? ALL my rates are effectively reduced: Partial Matches and Repetitions too. Does the SDL Machine Translation process retrieve Partial Matches from TMs into the translation for post-editing, as well as machine-translating New segments?
If anyone can advise, I would appreciate it!
