Friends, I'm faced with a new challenge. I've organized smaller translation project teams in the past, but nothing like this. I'm tasked with translating an almost 600 page long manual with complex terminology and countless standardized expressions, lots of fuzzy matches are to be expected. But my team (9 people) are all freelancers all over the world and, worst of all, almost none of them use Trados (me and two others use it, the rest are just used to write in MS Word). Luckily, time is not pressing, but I wonder how to approach the project from a management point of view.
Also, does anybody here know of good resources to learn the nitty-gritty of organizing translation projects? Has always been learning on the job for me until now and I figure it's time for a bit more formalized knowledge.
