bug: can't create a new project at all

Question

Hi, 
 I have a quite new computer, set up from scratch January this year, with Windows 10 and latest build of Studio 2021. At this moment that would be SDLTradosStudio2021SR1_16.1.6.4276, which I have just installed. And I have never been able to create a &bdquo;new project&rdquo; on it. 
 Every attempt to do so results in Studio freezing on such screen and me having to kill it from Task Manager. 
 Other features work. I can open packages, open existing projects, do all my work (which never involves creating new projects, fortunately). But this &mdash; doesn't. 
 Anyone has any ideas what to do?

 First I would make sure that Windows is actually up to date. 
 Often Windows is not updated and/or all the updates have not been applied properly.

 Next I would reset Studio-

 After rebooting your machine, please ensure you right-click Studio and run as ADMIN.
