Language Cloud used in preprocessing files?

Question

This might be a dumb question, but is the language cloud used by Trados Studio 2019 while preprocessing files?

 CRQ-6619 was fixed in Studio 2019 SR1 CU2 and will also be included in the future release of Studio 2017 SR1 CU16. Hope this helps!

Yes, that would be the place. However, if this doesn't help you, as you don't seem to have this option set anyway I now kow this is probably related to bug, CRQ-6619. I'm not sure when this is going to be resolved at the moment but I'll let you know when I find out, and you can use that number to follow up more directly if I don't.

Unless you add the MT (Machine Translation) to the Batch tasks, then no, Language Cloud is not used for it.

It triggers the LC if you added it in your Project settings, or under File->Options-> Language Pairs -> All Language Pairs -> Translation Memory and Automate Translation. So you should check all these settings to see if you've already added it in the general settings, as then it will be taken into account for the batch tasks.

No, that does not trigger the use of MT during a pre-translation batch task. You would need to tell the settings to use MT when no match was found in the pre-translation batch task. This would apply to all MT providers you use (deepL included of course).
