Seeking Insights and Exchange of Ideas: AI Integration in Regulated Translation Workflows with Trados

Hello everyone,

I work for a standardization organization. We develop and publish technical standards across various industries, ensuring interoperability, safety, and reliability. Our translation processes involve highly structured and regulated documents, making accuracy and consistency essential.

We are currently exploring various ways to integrate AI into our translation workflows, particularly in combination with Trados tools like Language Weaver Edge, also potentially with integration of our own onsite version of ChatGPT and DeepL, etc. To make informed decisions, we would love to connect with other organizations that have experience using AI or Trados tools for complex, regulated translations.

We are particularly interested in:

  • The challenges you faced when implementing AI in translation workflows
  • Any benefits or efficiency gains you’ve observed
  • How AI-assisted translation handles structured, technical, or legally binding content
  • Any unexpected stumbling blocks or lessons learned
  • How AI-assisted translation has changed existing translation processes (e.g. has AI changed the role of human review or proofreading?)

If your organization has faced or is undergoing similar challenges, we’d greatly appreciate hearing about your experiences. We’re open to exchanging insights and even setting up discussions to learn from each other.

Looking forward to your thoughts!

Best regards,

 Helen Brown
